And we are going home…

I’m sitting on our first flight from Waco to Dallas…everyone–myself included–is just drained. I mean what a win for this team…everyone fought their hearts out and that is really, all you can hope for. As a teammate, it is all you need. These guys fought their hearts out, played their guts out, and we came away from a giant “W”–again, it is it first ever win in Waco!

Apologize for the delay–it has been a crazy, crazy rush to the airport as we just barely made our flight. BUT, Holden, our lovely Senior, left his WALLET (yes ID AND ALL), at the courts. How do we get him his ticket and through security without it? Goof question.

So I thought of the idea to pull up his profile on my phone and show to the ticket people–it worked until they asked for security. Well, apparently it worked but my phone was hostage until we went to board. More importantly (I guess ;)) Holden is on our plane!

But I digress…the match is what matters! It was a true rolleroaster, we got crushed in doubles, jumped out to five first sets in singles, then fell behind a bit as Max and DK both lost second sets as did Clay–so we knew it would take tough 3-setters to win the match. And then Adrien just all of a sudden turned it around after being behind 6-4, 4-2 and came back and won…that was huge for momentum change for us and made a huge difference.

And then somehow, it always seem to happen where the score becomes 3-all–today was no exception! DK lost a heartbreaker, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5). At 5-4 in the breaker, his opponent made the worst call I have ever seen….ever. It’s hard to put in words how bad it was as DK hit a slice winner before the lline and Baylor called it out and despite DK being overruled 3 times, the ump did not over change the call. 2 points later it was the match and Baylor–following Max’s loss and Adrien’s win–it came down to Clay.

We are about to take off our final trek from Dallas to LAX but Clay’s match…just speechless. Each player soooo tight, tired, the teams going crazy…and I’ll recap one more post and ending thoughts of the match’s finish when we finally arrive in LA in a few hours. ๐Ÿ™‚

From Dallas until later…. GO BRUINS!!!!!

At least Holden made it safely on the plane! I wonder, will anyone mail his wallet to him?

I can’t wait for the next post – thanks for the updates and livestreaming, Barry! It was nervewracking watching everything unfold on a computer screen, but I’m pretty sure it was way more nervewaracking for you since you were actually there in person.

Great job on the win, Bruins! ๐Ÿ™‚
